Andrew Sheppard named CEO of rebranded GREE International Entertainment

Andrew Sheppard has been appointed CEO of San Francisco-based GREE International Entertainment.

Sheppard was formerly COO of GREE International, having joined the company in 2014 following a five-year stint at Kabam where he served as President of Worldwide Studios.

SVP of GREE International, Ryotaro Shima, has been promoted to Chief Operating Officer. Shima has also previously held the role of CEO at GREE UK and Director of Social Games at GREE Inc.

Former GREE International CEO Naoki Aoyagi will serve as Advisor.

GIE will manage its current games including Modern War and Knights & Dragons, as well as developing brand new IP set to be revealed later this year.

Leading the flock

"It's an honour and a privilege to be appointed CEO at such an exciting time when the company is transforming from a mobile games company to a major player in the larger interactive entertainment landscape," said Sheppard.

"I couldn't be more confident in the unique and innovative roadmap that we've created to help take us to the next level, and look forward to leading our teams to many great successes along the way."

GREE International will also now be known as GREE International Entertainment and will "focus on creating games that reflect a broader view of the gaming entertainment landscape".
