EA Worldwide Studios division brings together EA Mobile, BioWare and Maxis

EA is bringing together a number of its studios under the new banner of EA Worldwide Studios.

In a post on its blog, EA CEO Andrew Wilson said EA Worldwide Studios would "bring together our top creative talent in all of our great studios to work on EA’s powerful brand portfolio and new IP".

Movers and shakers

Both EA Mobile and Maxis will become part of the new division, led by Patrick Söderlund. Senior VP Samantha Ryan will carry on leading both EA Mobile and Maxis as well as taking on leadership of Mass Effect and Dragon Age developer BioWare.

Along with this, the central Frostbite Engine team will be joining EA's central Technology arm, led by CTO Ken Moss.

"At a time when players are engaged in games across more devices, the tenets of making great HD and mobile experiences are converging," he said.

"Our ability to blend our strengths to deliver amazing games across genres, geographies and platforms, in a networked environment, is central to our future success."
