PlayStack snaps up former Sony Interactive Entertainment Europe Creative Director

UK games publisher PlayStack has appointed Charlie Hasdell as its new Creative Director.

Hasdell has over 20 years experience in the industry and has previously worked as Creative Director at Sony Computer Entertainment Europe, amongst other roles.

At PlayStack he’ll be responsible for ensuring games meet a “high quality benchmark” across its publishing portfolio.

“Charlie is an indispensable collaborator who is able to bring together creative and technical staff with invaluable insights into both disciplines,” said PlayStack CEO Harvey Elliott.

“These skills allow him to innovate across a broad range of technologies from virtual reality and augmented reality to mobile devices and console hardware. With his experience and insight, he is able to give new direction and purpose to numerous projects.”

Hasdell added: “It’s fantastic to be working with Harvey again after all these years. I always found him to be an approachable, charismatic and diplomatic leader with a keen eye on what it takes to make a successful game. It gives me great pleasure to bring my skills and expertise to the amazing talent within the PlayStack family.”

PlayStack has recently made a spate of senior hires, including Mads Jensen as its new Chief Operating Officer and Director and Rob Crossley as its Head of Developer Partnerships.
