Ustwo Studios names new CEO

The digital agency and design studio that owns Ustwo Games has appointed a new CEO to drive the growth of the company’s global agency business.

Ustwo Studios has named Carsten Wierwille as its new chief executive by co-founders Matt ‘Mills’ Miller and John ‘Sinx’ Sinclair after an eight month search.

He has experience as SVP General Manager at global design firm Method and as VP, General manager of another design company Frog.

He’ll be leading the firn's global studios across London, New York, Malmo and Sydney to develop a long-term approach to growth. Wierwille will also be responsible for the overall strategic and commercial performance of the business.

Executive reshuffle

As part of the appointment, co-founders Mills and Sinx will now assume new roles in the business.

Mill’s will lead Ustwo’s ventures branch Ustwo Adventure, including chairing the company’s spin-off games studio Ustwo Games, responsible for developing critically acclaimed titles such as Monument Valley and Monument Valley 2.

Sinx meanwhile has become chairman of the company following a stint as CEO.

“Carsten is a natural leader and understands how to inspire our people and clients and continue to drive and evolve our approach to digital products and services,” said Mills.
