Mobile livestreaming platform Mobcrush has hired ex-Studio 71 COO Phil Ranta as its new head of creators, Tubefilter reports.

One of the main focuses of his role at Mobcrush will be to provide the link between the platforms entertainers and various brands.

Ranta has held various roles in the industry and as well as working with Studio 71, his other former employers include Fullscreen and Viva! Vision.

His hiring comes just as the company unveiled its new Go Live, Get Paid platform. The service is currently in beta and aims to offer Mobcrush’s streamers tools to help increase their viewership and engagement through advertisement and sponsorship opportunities.

Absolutely mobbed

The company claims content creators will be able to make in-between $15 and $2,500 per hour of streaming.

Mobcrush has also promised to help support streaming across multiple platforms like Twitch, Facebook, YouTube and Periscope. While the company has always offered this service, it is not currently clear if advertisements will also run on other sites.

The news comes just over a year after Mobcrush raised $20 million in investment to expand its service.
