So what is Snapchat?

Since Snapchat’s launched in 2011 (it originally released as Picaboo), it has become one of the most popular messaging apps on the planet. It’s particularly favoured by a younger audience, too.

The key idea behind Snapchat is messages that can only be briefly accessed before they disappear.

It’s proven wildly popular and as of Q2 2018, the app was said to have a daily active userbase of 188 million.

Snap has evolved significantly over time though, leaning in on augmented reality technology in particular.

It’s also increasingly become a haven for brands and marketers to promote themselves and their offerings.
