Gameloft to support 3D on Android with ten key titles
In what can only be seen as a show of strength for the OS, publisher Gameloft has announced it is to launch ten 3D titles for Android, encompassing some of the biggest franchises in the company's line-up.

Available through the Android Market as well as Gameloft's own channels (both the publisher's standard website and WAP variation), the ten games are  Asphalt 5, Let’s Golf!, Assassin's Creed, Hero of Sparta, Gangstar: West Coast Hustle, Dungeon Hunter, Real Football 2010, N.O.V.A., Modern Combat: Sandstorm and Tom Clancy’s H.A.W.X.

"Our goal has always been to offer the best gaming experience for each device," says senior VP of publishing at Gameloft, Gonzague de Vallois.

"With the arrival of smartphones that allow the creation of high quality games, we are excited to bring consumers a unique line up of diverse titles combining rich 3D graphics and intense gameplay."

Unique appeal

Gameloft claims the games in question – which will run on Sony Ericsson's Xperia X10, HTC's Desire, Motorola's Milestone/Droid and Motoroi, abd Google's Nexus One - will be custom created for each handset, with Tom Clancy’s H.A.W.X and Asphalt 5 able to make use of the accelerometer where supported, for example.

Further details regarding each game's feature-set can be found on Gameloft's recently relaunched website.
