Backflips's NinJump hits 2 million downloads in first 7 days

650,000 users playing game everyday

Backflips's NinJump hits 2 million downloads in first 7 days
Backflip is no stranger to its titles managing to clock up sales in the millions - Paper Toss so successful, in fact, that Sony chose to parody it in a recent PSP ad in the US.

However, the developer now reports that its latest title – NinJump – is being picked up at an even faster rate than its ode to wastebaskets the world over.

According to the studio's numbers, it's amassed downloads in the region of 2 million in the game's first seven days on sale.

Topping the Toss

"It's been our strongest launch to date, far surpassing what we initially saw with Paper Toss," said Backflip CEO Julian Farrior, adding that 650,000 unique users are playing the game every day, notching up more than 10 million sessions at 5 minutes a time.

Like Paper Toss before it, NinJump currently retails without charge, with Backflip making its money back from both in-game advertising and inducing users to upgrade to its paid titles.

However, the title - which Pocket Gamer's Jon Mundy described as a 'brilliant slice of freebie fun' - still has some way to go before it tops Paper Toss, with Backflip recently revealing total downloads of the title now sit at 24 million.

Back in May, Farrior revealed Paper Toss also accounts for around 75 percent of the developer's downloads.
