PapayaMobile links up with InMobi to launch Android ad SDK
Announced at San Francisco's Smartphone Games Summit, PapayaMobile and InMobi have agreed a partnership to launch a joint SDK designed to make advertising on Android easier.

The new SDK will combine both company's networks – PapayaMobile's 4 million strong social platform on Android, plus InMobi's worldwide ad network – to create a platform capable of increasing monetisation opportunities for developers.

"InMobi offers a comprehensive mobile advertising solution and has a large presence across Asia and India," said PapayaMobile CEO and co-founder Si Shen.

"Partnering will allow us to combine strengths and give InMobi's developers access to Papaya's millions of users – creating a one-stop solution for Android developers who want to increase exposure for their apps and gain traction with new users."

Expanding on Android

InMobi has recently engaged in a period of expansion from its strong base in Asia, with a debut in the US market back in June followed by an $8 million investment the following month.

The network, which claimed a global reach of more than 179 million earlier this year, also operates on mobile platforms in Europe and Africa.

"We not only offer game developers an alternative to paid downloads as a revenue stream, but we also provide them with the ability to monetise traffic in most regions around the world," said InMobi's head of smartphone platforms Ashwani Kumar.

"Game developers are uniquely positioned to profit from the global nature of the mobile Internet revolution.

"Papaya's strong presence in the Android community, coupled with our global ad network, makes this a win for game developers and the overall Android market."
