Metro Apps launches UK and European focused games publishing program
Having launched itself as a games publisher back in November, Metro Apps has announced it is to tailor its approach to more adequately suit developers looking to target Europe.

The firm – owned by DMGT's consumer wing A&N Media – is to roll out a UK and European focused publishing program, designed to develop campaigns specifically pitched at gamers in said regions.

The big trick up its sleeve, however, is its ability to promote titles across its range of media in the region – from its sweep of newspapers to its collection of websites.

Metro marketing

"The United Kingdom is one of the biggest markets for smartphone game sales and we have seen the immense impact of mainstream marketing on a mobile app's success," stated head of business development Renate Nyborg.

"We are excited to partner with key players in the smartphone games industry to help expand reach into new European territories that engages new audiences and maximises revenue streams.

"Yet, we also welcome indie developers to connect with us as we look to help introduce the next big hit on a global scale."

Metro Apps claims developers that come on board will benefit from highly targeted marketing campaigns, as well as gaining a vital presence across social media and access to the firm's PR machine.

Primarily focused on iOS – with support for Android and BlackBerry developers also on offer – further info on the program will be made available at GDC 2011 in San Francisco.
