Neon Play hits 20 million downloads on iOS and Android as studio turns 1

Up 10 million in less than 4 months

Neon Play hits 20 million downloads on iOS and Android as studio turns 1
In February, Neon Play CEO Oli Christie pondered how long it would take his studio to hit 20 million downloads, having cleared its first 10 million within 10 months.

Just over three months later, and the Paper Glider studio has announced the passing of that particular milestone, with total downloads topping 20 million just as Neon Play celebrates its first birthday.

Branching out

"We are proving that you don’t have to be in London or the US to have a successful mobile apps business," Christie said of the firm's latest news.

That 20 million base has been spread across 32 releases on both iOS and Android, though Christie claims support for other platforms is set to follow.

"We've got big plans for the year ahead and we are already working on some exciting and ambitious projects. We are also planning to take our existing games and go cross-platform," he added.

The company's most recent chart topper in the UK was Paper Glider Crazy Copter – the seventh Neon Play game to hit #1 on the App Store.
