PapayaMobile offers Android developers route into Asia with its Gateway to China program
PapayaMobile's strength on Android - 19 million users and counting - makes a move to take advantage of the platform's growing base in China a logical one.

After all, according to PapayaMobile's figures, Google's OS accounts for half of smartphones in the country.

The firm's new Gateway to China program, therefore, promises to give developers a turnkey solution to launch their titles in the Chinese market via PapayaMobile's network.

All-in-one solution

In this context, Android Market's lack of presence in China represents a big opportunity for PapayaMobile.

The firm will also provide free localisation services, access to other marketing channels, the opportunity of pre-installs with Chinese OEMs and access to billing solutions through the Papaya Social SDK.

"With three years of experience working in China, PapayaMobile has established relationships with key handset manufacturers, app stores, wireless operators and press, making Papaya the most widely distributed mobile social networking service in this territory," said CEO Si Shen.

"Our goal is to share these relationships with our developers so that they too can monetise off of the largest mobile market in the world."

Already on board are BulkyPix, Kiloo, Connect2Media, Mindstorm Studios and Digital Prunes.
