DeNA studio expands executive team

Former Mattel man Michael Staskin appointed as ngmoco CMO
Having previously held executive management positions at Mattel both in North America and Europe, ngmoco has appointed Michael Staskin as its new CMO.

Staskin comes most recently from Italian gaming and lottery giant Sisal SpA, where he was VP of marketing and communications.

Motivating Mobage

"Michael is a world-class marketer who has managed some of the world’s biggest brands on a global scale," said CEO Neil Young.

"His ability to create value for real and virtual goods around the world makes him a remarkable addition to ngmoco's executive team. We’re thrilled to welcome him aboard."

Staskin's appointment comes after parent company DeNA's mobile social platform Mobage is reported to have got off to a slow start on Android Market in the west.

JP Morgan has claimed in an investment note that the Android portal app has been downloaded 'only' 50,000 – 100,000 times – a figure it labels as "extremely small".

Not down on DeNA

Staskin, however, believes ngmoco is a key asset to DeNA in western markets, stating Mobage will be a success in the long term.

"ngmoco is poised to forever change the way people interact with content on their mobile devices," he added.

"I'm excited to introduce consumers around the world to Mobage, a new way to consume, share and experience mobile entertainment."
