Bike Baron and Modern Combat 3: Fallen Nation are the top-reviewed iPhone games for October
If you were wondering what the best-reviewed iPhone games on the web last month were, here's the Quality Index round-up for October to fill you in.

The Quality Index boasts over 110,000 reviews from websites like 148Apps, Pocket Gamer, and Gamezebo, and uses a unique metric to create a single definitive score for each iPhone title.

Age is neither a barrier to success in the world of stunt cycle racing nor an insurmountable obstacle in the sphere of iPhone game development, it would appear, as Mountain Sheep's 2.5D physics-based racer Bike Baron finishes on the top of the Qi podium in October 2011.

For the fifth consecutive time, meanwhile, UK publisher Chillingo has a representative on the Quality Index end-of-month round-up. Following in the exalted footsteps of DrawRace 2, Anomaly Warzone Earth, Swords and Soldiers, and Rocket Bunnies is Super Crossfire, a frenzied shoot-'em-up that blends well-crafted retro sensibilities with a futuristic warping mechanic.

Not one but two Gameloft hits secure spots on our coveted rundown, too, with the cerebral The Adventures of Tintin: The Secret of the Unicorn - The Game joining the more instinctive Call of Duty-esque Modern Combat 3: Fallen Nation in the Top 10.

And, naturally, this is a static graph based on live listings which are subject to constant change as new releases and reviews emerge.

In order to provide a regular marker of the critical zeitgeist, however, we will continue to round up the best of the iPhone games released each month to provide the definitive Quality Index top ten.
