Social analytics specialist Kontagent raises $12 million in fresh funding round
Social analytics platform Kontagent has raised $12 million in a series B funding round, backed by former investors Maverick Capital and Altos Ventures as well as newcomer Battery Ventures.

Kontagent claims the funding will go towards fuelling research and development at the company, as well as aiding its expansion into the mobile market.

It adds up

The company, which has now raised $18 million in funding in all, states it's also planning on further developing its data mining and predictive analytics capabilities, with Kontagent already tracking a total of 1,000 apps spanning more than 150 million MAUs.

"We are very pleased to welcome Battery Ventures, who are deeply committed to our vision of the future of user analytics, and also honored by the continued support from both Maverick and Altos," said CEO Jeff Tseng.

"With these partners by our side, we can grow our platforms to continue solving the business needs of our current and future customers through increased investment in product development, data science and other strategic areas."

Big names already tapping up Kontagent's platform include EA, Warner Brothers, Popcap, Ubisoft, Gaia, and A&E, with the firm's newest offering – kSuite – facilitating the tracking of data over both web and mobile applications.
