Store and community access for all account holders

Steam companion app now available on iOS and Android
One week ago, Valve's digital distribution platform Steam hit smartphones on iOS and Android, though access was initially locked to consumers, apart from a lucky few holding beta passes.

Now the app has been fully unlocked and is open for all those users with Steam accounts.

The Steam app obviously won't let users play their PC and Mac games on their mobile devices, but it will allow them to chat with other friends as part of the Steam community.

It'll also provide access to the Steam online store, keeping consumers up-to-date on current prices and promotions.

Any content purchased through the app can then be downloaded through the desktop client.
