Two Way Media launches Poker Squares on Amazon's Kindle e-readers

In US now, coming to UK soon

Two Way Media launches Poker Squares on Amazon's Kindle e-readers
With all the furore surrounding Amazon's new Kindle Fire tablet, the focus has been drawn away from the original e-ink Kindle, especially since it's not in any shape or form a dedicated gaming device.

Or is it? Back in December 2010, just four months after it had been launched, the top six apps on the device were games.

Now Two Way Media has launched Poker Squares for the original Kindle, utilising the device's "Active Content" system. It's only available in the US at the moment, though a UK release is thought to be on the cards.

Poker face

"We aim to bring our puzzle games to every possible device, and in Poker Square's case, the Kindle is absolutely ideal," said James Turner, Two Way Media's chief executive.

"All the game requires is the 5-way controller, and it looks great on a black and white screen.

"In its former guise the game has generated a dedicated audience on TV, and we are proud to bring it to a new audience on the Kindle. Watch this space for the Kindle Fire version!"
Poker Squares can be downloaded now from the Amazon Kindle Store for $1.99
