Social analytics specialist Kontagent grows 500% in FY2011

And takes on its first mobile-only clients

Social analytics specialist Kontagent grows 500% in FY2011
On the back of the year that saw the firm attract 100 new enterprise customers, US social analytics specialist Kontagent has announced 500 percent revenue growth in its 2011 fiscal year.

The last 12 months saw Kontagent reach out to its first mobile-only clients, while partnerships with social networks and web portals also boosted the firm's turnover throughout the course of the year.

Suite for all

Kontagent's kSuite analytics platform works across both web and mobile, with the aim of increasing user acquisition, retention and monetisation rates.

Marketers are also handed an insight into user behaviour.

Where mobile clients are concerned, Kontagent claims its analytics can help developers "know which platforms and devices are delivering the best performance [and] measure and optimise their marketing performance in terms of user acquisition"

Powerful weapons

According to Jeff Tseng, Kontagent's co-founder and CEO, "User data is a powerful competitive weapon for social and mobile marketers and developers.

"We provide critical insights like which channels produce the most profitable segments of users, when and where they abandon an app, what in-app purchases they make, and their user behaviour on different time slices such as sessions, time since install, time on site, and level in the case of game developers."

Tseng concluded, "Our growth is directly related to our ability to provide this information to companies that are fighting for both market and wallet share in an environment where users have a virtually unlimited choice of where to spend their time."

Back in November, Kontagent closed a $12 millon funding round backed by former investors Maverick Capital and Altos Ventures as well as newcomer Battery Ventures.
