InMobi launches UDID independent tracking platform Ad Tracker

Free and network agnostic

InMobi launches UDID independent tracking platform Ad Tracker
Mobile advertising network InMobi has launched the InMobi Ad Tracker, its UDID independent conversion-tracking platform for advertisers.

Both separate from the InMobi ad-network and free to integrate, InMobi Ad Tracker allows advertisers to measure multiple conversion types across all ad networks and publishers with a single login.

Its launch comes at a time when the industry is looking to move away from systems that rely on Apple's UDID system, which it's expected will be wound down in the coming months.

The UDID question

"The industry has been aware for some time that UDID deprecation was on its way," explained Chandrashekhar Vattikuti, InMobi's VP of products.

"With this in mind, it was critical for InMobi to create a solution with long-term benefits for both advertisers and publishers."

InMobi claims AdTracker avoids a reliance on the UDID by using browser cookies to track conversions across apps and the mobile web.

This serves as the primary conversion tracking technology, with AdTracker also combineing ODIN1 and market referrer tracking technologies for app download campaigns.

"By using multiple tracking technologies, it is able to produce the highest level of accuracy and scale that is possible through mobile devices," Vattikuti claimed.

The pitch

The platform offers ad networks what InMobi bills as "real time feedback on all conversions that they attribute, giving them accurate insights into their mobile campaign results and allowing them to optimise campaigns in real time.”

"This will in turn drive more accountability for spend in mobile, benefiting the entire mobile ecosystem; from advertisers to publishers and app developers," concluded Vattikuti.

The InMobi AdTracker is available now. For more information on this free solution, take a look at AdTracker site.
