As pre-orders for Samsung's latest handset break records in the UK, the Korean giant has revealed total shipments for its Galaxy S range of phones have passed the 50 million mark.
The boast, translated from a press release in Korean, suggests the Galaxy S II accounts for 28 million of those shipments, with the original device notching up 22 million.
Numbers to note
Samsung itself claims that the 50 million total is double what the rest of the smartphone market has amassed combined during the last year.
However, according to translations, that's something the company believes is a "shame".
Outside of the Galaxy S range, the manufacturer has also revealed shipments of the 5.3-inch Galaxy Note have topped 7 million since October.
