PlayPhone focuses on flexibility with new Social Gaming Network SDK

Version 2.0 boasts new tools aplenty

PlayPhone focuses on flexibility with new Social Gaming Network SDK
With a focus on flexibility, PlayPhone has unveiled second generation SDK for the firm's Social Gaming Network, introducing a new suite of new tool to aid developers in the process.

PlayPhone claims the new SDK enables developers to easily optimise game revenue, master user engagement and app distribution.

Its key feature, however, is the ability to add dynamic touch points in-game without having to re-publish the title in question to various app stores.

Dev-ocracy

Dubbed POP! - or Performance Optimisation Platform - the new technology is part of a wider move by the firm to make life easier for developers.

PlayPhone claims the tool lets developers create custom actions – such as dialogue boxes, interstitials, ratings requests, cross promotions, virtual goods upsells – before managing said actions online in real-time.

"Developers demand flexibility and control over both their creations and financial destiny, and PlayPhone is committed to supporting our partners' vitality for the long term," explained PlayPhone CEO Ron Czerny.

"This is why our engineers have been working for months to build our cross-platform, second-generation PSGN SDK that introduces the revolutionary POP! in order to place full publishing power back into developers' hands."

PlaySurge

More than 3,000 developers make use of the current PlayPhone Social Gaming Network SDK, and PlayPhone hopes it can entice even more with the new features packed into version 2.0.

The network reported a 400 percent growth rate in the first six months of 2012, a surge it attributed to an "increased level of developer support."

"This is a huge step toward creating a lasting ecosystem for mobile gaming on smartphones and tablets," Czerny concluded.
