TIGA offers grants to take devs to Game Connection Europe 2012

Handing out £1,000 to eligible studios

TIGA offers grants to take devs to Game Connection Europe 2012
UPDATE: We've reached out to TIGA and been told that these grants are open to all UK games companies, and are not exclusive to TIGA members.

UK trade association TIGA has announced it is to aid developers looking to attend Game Connection Europe 2012 by offering grants of £1,000.

Those looking to take advantage of the cash before the event hits Paris in November can do so now, though TIGA claims only 'eligible' studios should apply.

Partner power

Just what the criteria actually are remains unclear, but it seems safe to assume that TIGA membership will be a necessity, however.

"TIGA is a network that focuses on enabling games developers and digital publishers to grow, so we are very pleased to be able to offer financial help to videogame businesses for this crucial event in the gaming calendar," explained TIGA CEO Dr Richard Wilson.

"The TIGA team will be at the show and are looking forward to catching up with developers, digital publishers and service providers at one of the most popular events in the games industry."

Money matters

Game Connection Europe will take place in the French capital from 28-30 November this year, with organisers expecting more than 1,600 attendees.

TIGA hopes that the developers it funds will be able to take advantage of the event's networking opportunities to secure financing partners.

Currently, a standard Game Connection pass is priced at €560 (roughly £445), while an exhibitor table pass costs €2650 (roughly £2100).

UK companies can request a grant application form by emailing vanessa[at]tiga[dot]org, and should expect to receive a response within ten days of submitting an application.
