Mind Candy moves for former MTV man Roedy to aid Moshi Monsters' media assault
Building on its agenda to expand the Moshi Monsters brand across television, cartoons and films, Mindy Candy has appointed Bill Roedy as a non-executive director.

Roedy – who previously served as CEO and chairman of MTV Networks International – has a "wealth of experience in entertainment media" that he used to good effect driving MTV's global expansion.

Now, say Mindy Candy, he'll do the same for the studio's IP.

"Mind Candy is a very impressive operation," said Roedy of his appointment.

"Moshi Monsters is on the way to becoming a global 'tour de force'. It will be an exciting ride, alongside the expert leadership of Michael [Acton Smith, CEO] and his team."

The company claims Roedy is to help Mind Candy expand internationally, developing new brands in the process and launching "linear entertainment such as Moshi TV, cartoons and films."

Monster brand

As such, his experience powering MTV into a global entertainment brand that now reaches 200 countries and 33 languages across 200 separate channels will be invaluable.

"It's an honour to have Bill join us here at Mind Candy. He is a fantastic businessman with a fascinating story," added CEO Michael Acton Smith.

"We look forward to benefiting from his rich and varied experience as we expand into many new areas of the entertainment industry."
