The Room, New Star Soccer and The Walking Dead all honoured at BAFTA Games Awards 2013
Announced during a lavish ceremony in London, Telltale's The Walking Dead took home the BAFTA for Best Mobile & Handheld Game last night - one of the highlights of the 2013 British Academy Games Awards.

The winner of the category was decided by a panel of mobile gaming experts, including PocketGamer.biz editor Keith Andrew.

It wasn't the only award that The Walking Dead went home with, though. The multiplatform title also picked up the prize for Best Story at the ceremony, hosted at the London Hilton Hotel last night.

Winning streak

The award come just days after The Walking Dead took home the top honour at this year's Best App Ever awards, unveiled at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona. The Walking Dead

Meanwhile, Guildford-based developer Fireproof Games was awarded the Best British Game prize for its critically acclaimed mystery game – and App Store debut – The Room.
New Star Soccer was recognised in the Sports/Fitness Games category, fending off competition from the likes of FIFA 13 and Forza Horizon to bring home the gong for creator Simon Read.

Finally, the BAFTA Ones To Watch Award – a category set aside for the three winners of 2012's Dare to be Digital contest – went Kind of a Big Deal for its Windows Phone arcade game Starcrossed.

An aside

In the world of console and PC gaming, Journey was the biggest winner of the night, picking up five awards for developer Thatgamecompany, including the prizes for Artistic Achievement and Game Design.
Journey missed out on the prize for Best Game though, as that prestigious award went to Arkane Studios' Dishonored.
