Free-to-play force Z2 takes on talent from Glu, Big Fish and Blizzard to fuel rebrand

Z2Live is dead. Long live Z2

Free-to-play force Z2 takes on talent from Glu, Big Fish and Blizzard to fuel rebrand
Coupled with new talent arriving from the likes of Glu Mobile, Big Fish Games and Blizzard, Seattle-based free-to-play specialist Z2Live has unveiled a rebranding designed to refuel the company.

The firm - now forever known as simply 'Z2' - has welcomed Glen Pryer as VP of operations, joining after a stint at the now-defunct Kingdoms of Amalur developer 38 Studios.

Pryer also enjoyed 19 months as director of global planning and support at World of Warcraft creator Blizzard Entertainment.

Gone from Glu

Adam Flanders, meanwhile, can boast more than six years of experience at Glu Mobile, during which time he occupied roles such as general manager for North American and, more recently, SVP of sales and marketing.

At Z2, Flanders will - funnily enough - also take up the role of SVP of sales and marketing, building on his notable expertise.

Shanis Windland is the third senior hire, joining Z2 as senior director of finance.

Windland previously served in a similar role at Big Fish Games, where her title was director of financial accounting.

Name changer

"While the name of the company may have changed, our passion for creating console-quality free-to-play mobile games has not," explained Z2 CEO Lou Fasulo.

"Our new name reflects our shift from creating a game platform to developing and publishing some of the industry's deepest and most engaging mobile titles."
