94 Seconds and Sonic The Hedgehog are heading the Quality Index's Top 10 rated iOS and Android games of May 2013
If you were wondering what the best-reviewed iOS and 'droid games on the web last month were, here are the iPhone Quality Index, iPad Quality Index, and Android Quality Index round-ups for May to fill you in.

The iPhone, iPad, and Android Quality Indexes boast over 650,000 reviews (in total) from websites like 148Apps, Pocket Gamer, and Gamezebo, and use a unique metric to create a single definitive score for each iOS and Android title.

We got 94 Seconds to go, we got 94 Seconds...

In the May iPhone Qi game chart (and, indeed, the iPad Qi game chart), Scimob takes the top slot with 94 Seconds, its winning combination of online social play and quick-fire general knowledge.

Speaking of online social play, Zynga's back with Draw Something 2.

We can't tell whether this will be as massive as the first game, but the thoughtfully executed enhancements mean that it certainly deserves to be.

At #3 on the iPad Qi game chart this month is Ace Patrol, the latest title from the undisputed king of strategy, Sid Meier.

We knew Mr Meier could handle formidably deep PC strategy epics, but it seems he can distill his tactical essence into punchy mobile form, too.

And on the subject of mobile alchemy, Sorcery! takes fourth position this month. Such a beguiling storybook adventure. Magic, I tell thee.

Finally, at #9, we have Frozen Synapse, the much-anticipated conversion of the modern PC strategy game masterpiece.

The main feature here is a turn-based multiplayer mode that enables you to play against living breathing PC gamers. Yikes.

Taking the top spot in May's Android Qi game chart is Sonic The Hedgehog, the highly anticipated 'droid conversion of the Sega platformer that defined the 16-bit era.

(Well, there was also that game with the fat Italian plumber, but never mind about that.)

Down at #8, Lonely Few manages to deliver some style and freshness to the saturated puzzle genre with Blendoku. No mean feat.

Following closely behind that is Survivalcraft. Take the aesthetic and core creative principle of Minecraft and add a new attritional edge.

Yep, that's precisely what Survivalcraft, err, crafter Candy Rufus Games did.

Finally, Bonds of the Skies is yet another impeccably executed JRPG from Kemco. You know the score: explore, battle, level-up, and follow the heavily clichéd plot.

And, naturally, these are static graphs based on live listings which are subject to constant change as new releases and reviews emerge.

In order to provide a regular marker of the critical zeitgeist, however, we will continue to round up the best of the iOS and Android games released each month to provide the definitive Quality Index top tens.
