Distimo is the latest app analytics outfit to provide free web access into its smarts
The battle for app store analytics is hotting up.

While App Annie has long offered a web front for some of its information - since joined by the likes of apptrace, Metricsmonk and AppData - Distimo has now got in on the act.

It's launched Distimo App Trends.

This provides open access for two weeks of daily download and revenue trends for Apple App Store, Google Play and Amazon Appstore.

Longer time frames can be viewed if you register for the free part of the Distimo AppIQ product.

Access to the full product starts at €1,199 per month.

Big data hunter

The data is estimated from the over three billion downloads Distimo tracks per quarter.

Combined with its own calculations, Distimo reckons that the performance of 54 percent of the apps it covers are estimated with a margin of error below three percent, and 95 percent are estimated with a margin of error below 10 percent.

It looks like this...

"Our new App Trends service provides a new degree of transparency to the mobile app market that has not been easily accessible to users before, and offers true insight into an app's uptake and success over time," said CEO Vincent Hoogsteder.

Services that provide free insight into the uptake of apps are in high demand, including our own Distimo Leaderboards, but all of these services have only shown ranking data - until now.

"We're excited to bring the first global service to market where anyone that works in the mobile sector can have access to daily download and revenue trends at their fingertips."
