Forging ahead: Former Lionhead man Gareth Lewis joins Remode Studios
Plymouth-based outfit Remode Studios has announced the appointment of former Lionhead man Gareth Lewis as technical director.

Lewis has worked in the industry for over 22 years, gaining notable experience overseeing engineering outputs at Lionhead, and working as a lead programmer on Bloodforge - a first-party Microsoft release.

Big on Burrow

Remode is headed up by managing director Ella Romanos, who joined the board of UK trade association TIGA back in 2012.

"I have known Ella and Martin for almost a decade, and watched with deep admiration and respect as their studio Remode has grown," said Lewis, speaking about his upcoming role

"I am looking forward to overseeing development across the full roster of our games, and am particularly excited about working closely with the team on Remode's upcoming release Burrow."

Indeed, the development of free-to-play multiplayer strategy game Burrow was bolstered by a £100,000 injection of funds by government's £5 million strong regional growth fund Creative England.

Romanos notes Lewis will be put to work on the HTML5-based title, focusing on its "advanced stages of game development", with a full launch expected in 2014.

What do you call someone who has an unhealthy obsession with video games and Sean Bean? That'd be a 'Chris Kerr'. Chris is one of those deluded souls who actually believes that one day Sean Bean will survive a movie. Poor guy.
