San Francisco-based online gaming powerhouse Kixeye has just cut the ribbon on some prime new office space in Portland, Oregon.

And that's not just some pretty prose - Kixeye's chief marketing officer Brandon Barber actually cut the ribbon with an axe.

The new Portland location, set in the heart of the city's historic downtown, will serve as Kixeye's 'customer advocacy centre' for all games launched under the Kixeye banner and will handle matter related to customer support.

Although Kixeye, which is currenty making its presence known on mobile, expects to have "as many as 20" employees in the new office space by the year's end, there will be plenty of room to expand in case Portland operations should move beyond customer support and into game development.

Kixeye has already begun to recruit local Portland talent to fill its new office space, and that pool of talent is part of the reason why the San Francisco company expanded to The City of Roses.

"We're thrilled to raise the Kixeye flag in Portland," said CEO Will Harbin.

"It's a great city, with phenomenal talent, we look forward to becoming a part of the thriving tech community in Portland."

Portland's Mayor, Charles Hales, was equally enthusiastic about the new arrival to his city.

"Kixeye's arrival here is yet another indicator of Portland's continuing attraction for tech companies which recognise our deep talent base, quality of life and business advantages. We're delighted to welcome Kixeye and its growing number of local jobs to the downtown community."
