Ahead of PlayHaven merger, Kontagent raises $4.8 million in fresh financing

Having announced its merger with PlayHaven back in December, mobile analytics specialist Kontagent has secured $4.8 million in the firm's latest round of financing.

The latest injection of funds – contributed by previoud investors Hany Nada of GGV Capital and Eric Kim of Maverick Capital – takes the Kontagent's total capital raised to $17 million.

Combined wealth

Kontagent's move on PlayHaven at the end of 2013 was, in both company's words, an attempt to "transform" the world's mobile data.

The two firm's claim combining Kontagent's analytics solutions with PlayHaven's acquisition, engagement, and monetisation tools will better help developers "understand user behaviour, decide what it means, and act immediately to impact their businesses."

It's claimed the combined company will reach 400 million monthly users across 22,000 apps and 1 billion devices.
