In January 2014, we launched our ever first conference Pocket Gamer Connects in the heart of London.I think it's fair to say it was a success. In fact, it exceeded our wildest imaginations (and we're quite unrealistically ambitious most of the time).
Around 700 of the industrys leading mobile developers, publishers and service providers from around the world descended on the achingly trendy (and surprisingly vast) Vinopolis to check out our programme of truly insightful, inspirational and opinionated talks and panels, as well as taking the chance to network in real style.
The response from attendees and sponsors was simply overwhelming with many claiming it to be the best mobile games conference they'd been to and a few even going so far to say it was the best conference in any industry they'd ever been to - thanks Gamesparks!
And there's more
In the interests of giving the public what they want, we've decided that we're going to do it all again, except this time we wanted to take it to what is arguably Europe's epicenter for mobile gaming right now, being home to the likes of Rovio, Supercell and Grand Cru as well as countless new start-ups and surprisingly strong alcoholic shots.
Thats why weve taken the plunge and are proud to announce the next Pocket Gamer Connects Conference will take place on the 16th and 17th June in Helsinki.
Meat for the mind
Well once again be serving up two distinct tracks to get your teeth into; one East meets West taking the overview on the global mobile game publishing landscape and zeroing in on territories as a whole and another on the challenges and opportunities for all of our indie developer friends from the core drive of creativity, through to the mirky world of monetisation.
Well also be hosting a dedicated indie developer and 'unconference' day to help those who're so inclined get to grips with some of the more detailed issues as well as the games themselves.Oh and of course there'll be a good work-out for your business card holder too, with a dedicated meeting day, match-making system and our own legendary social events.
Most importantly of all, well make sure to inject this conference with all the expertise, care and fun youve come to expect from the Pocket Gamer crew.
