Meet and greet: Pocket Gamer goes on tour this May

I know it might be hard to believe but it is already May. Yes, a third of 2014 has disappeared in barely the blink of an eye and we’ve tried our hardest to make sure we’ve been all across the world in that time.

But just in case you’ve managed to miss the Pocket Gamer team when we’ve been in and around your neighbourhood, never fear because we’re back in for yet more budget airline action.

This month alone, we’ll be putting in some serious air miles to criss-cross Europe and to get out to China to provide you with the opportunity of top quality face time.

So check out the listings below for the full schedule (we think) of where the Pocket Gamer team will be hanging out across the world this month. Oh, and make sure to get in touch with us through the PocketGamer.biz events listing for each event – we’d love to say hello.

GMIC, Beijing: 5-6 May

Self styled as Asia’s largest gaming conference, our roaming editor at large Jon Jordan will be in Beijing checking out the Global Games Summit track. He’ll also be giving a talk titled ’10 minutes = 10 innovative F2P mobile games you need to play’ as well as moderating two panels, so make sure you head on down to give him some support.

Digital Dragons, Krakow: 7-9 May

A veritable cavalcade of Pocket Gamer celebrities will be in town for Digital Dragons next week. Heading down to judge our Big Indie Pitch on Wednesday 7 May and to generally hang around the conference are the likes of Rob Hearn, Chris Priestman, the legendary Will Freeman and, erm, me. Steel Media’s wonderful Managing Director Chris James will also be around to chat to as well, if you’re that way inclined.

So if you’re in the Krakow area for Digital Dragons, make sure you come by and see us. The Big Indie Pitch is completely free to attend and you can grab your ticket for that right now.

Intergame Conference, Tallinn: 14 May

On 14 May, the Pocket Gamer team will be hosting a Mobile Mixer in the lively Kochi Aidad tavern as part of our involvement with the wonderful Intergame Conference in the App Store.

Jon Jordan will be down there hosting a thoroughly entertaining evening chit chat with the likes of Creative Mobile, GameFounders and Herocraft about the future of monetisation in mobile gaming. Best of all, it is completely free to attend and all you have to do to register is sign up here for a free ticket here.

DevGamm, 15-16 May: Moscow

Continuing something of an Eastern European theme, we’ll be heading to Moscow as well in time for DevGamm’s latest conference. As well as covering the conference, we’ll have a lovely little booth for you to drop by so we really can’t stress enough how much we all love Russian vodka…when the working day has finished. Obviously.

Nordic Games Conference, 20-23 May: Malmo

Ahead of the Nordic Games Conference, we’ll be bringing the Pocket Gamer Mobile Mixer bandwagon into town on 20 May to kick the whole shebang off. I’ll be hosting the panel with the help of Creative Mobile and Everyplay, so make sure you sign up for a ticket on our Eventbrite page for free to come along for a top quality chinwag. I promise to only make a handful of references to The Bridge during the course of the evening.

And that’s pretty much your lot for our major appearances across the world this month. If you want to check all the places our journalists will be going to, as well as discovering a treasure trove of events listings, head on over to our events section to get the full lowdown.

We're getting the Pocket Gamer tour bus on the road in May - make sure you come by and see us if you can.
