Poland has a good reputation in terms of its game development talent, and now it looks like it's also getting a conference to match.

The Digital Dragons European Games Festival is being held on 8-9 May in Krakow, and it's mixing up the usual set of high-quality talks, with VC speed networking, and indie showcase, and a Pocket Gamer Big Indie Pitch.

In terms of the main conference, the speaker list includes well-known developers including XCOM creator Julian Gollop, Jason Della Rocca from Canadian incubator Execution Labs, Carsten van Husen from German developer Gameforge and Marek Ziemak from 11 bit studio.

Other companies speaking are Vivid Games, Artifex Mundi, EA, CD Projekt RED, Ubisoft, and GREE International.

Meanwhile, Sony will be hosting a PlayStation Open Day on 7 May, which will cover topics such as how to get games onto PlayStation formats and how to improve developers' business practices.
