Capital idea: TIGA to connect UK devs with investors at finance event

UK games industry trade association TIGA is planning a one-off event in central London on Thursday, 19 June in an effort to bring game developers and investors together and boost chances of finding funding.

"As the network for developers run by developers, TIGA appreciates the challenges facing those trying to run a games business in the UK today," explains TIGA CEO Dr Richard Wilson.

"[We're] focused on helping developers tackle some of the most important and difficult issues they face today, of which access to funding is one of the most significant."

Expert advice

Alongside the various networking opportunities, the Access to Finance event will offer advice to games creators from various inudstry investment experts including Mercia Fund Management's Mike Hayes and Josh Levy, Arelldee Associates' Leo Dunne, Creative Europe's Francesca Walker and Tesseract Fund's Barry O'Neill.

"I would like to thank Mercia Fund Management for its support and hope as many developers as possible can come along to take part and ultimately help us build a stronger UK games industry,” Wilson concludes.

Access to Finance takes place at 69-89 Mile End Road, London, E1 4TT, and kicks off at 1pm. Tickets are free to TIGA members, and are available now.
