Comedy Central and Pocket Gems to revive Ugly Americans on mobile

Comedy Central has partnered with mobile publisher Pocket Gems to bring its cult hit TV show, Ugly Americans, to mobile devices using Pocket Gems' interactive storytelling Episode platform.

The new app will feature four new story arcs created by the show's writers and producers, with the collaboration marking the first time a TV show has been continued in a mobile-only format.

All the original stories will be spread across 40 chapters, giving fans of the show plenty to sink their teeth into.

Back from the dead

Thanks to Pocket Gems' Episode platform, players will also be able to control the story by choosing the responses of leading man, Mark Lilly.

"Play as social worker Mark Lilly as you help new American citizens, both human and “other,” adapt to hectic life in New York City," read a Pocket Gems statement.

"The whole gang is here: zombie roommate Randall, succubus girlfriend Callie, demonic boss Twayne, drunken wizard Leonard, and all the other weirdos."

The Ugly Americans app will go live on 4 September.

What do you call someone who has an unhealthy obsession with video games and Sean Bean? That'd be a 'Chris Kerr'. Chris is one of those deluded souls who actually believes that one day Sean Bean will survive a movie. Poor guy.
