Pocket Gamer's Twitch channel smashes 3 million views milestone

Steel Media is proud to announce that its premier Twitch channelfrom AppSpy and Pocket Gamer has broken the 3 million view mark.

Launched almost a year ago, it's grown steadily and shows no signs of stopping.

Frequently commanding 70,000 impressions per hour, and with a dedicated following of regular viewers, the channel has rapidly overtaken all consumer media competitors working in the space.

World of games

Streaming for one hour every weekday, the various shows produced cover all aspects of portable gaming, including iOS, Android, PlayStation Vita, and Nintendo 3DS.

The channel's show schedule includes Eye on the App Store - in which the team go over all the biggest releases for the week 24 hours early - as well as playing host to the live version of the hugely popular Pocket Gamer Podcast, plus multiplayer gaming sessions with the community that's built up around it.

"We are enormously pleased with the progress AppSpy and Pocket Gamer's Twitch channel has made in 2014, not only in amassing an impressive 3 million views but in fostering a genuinely huggable community," said Steel Media's genuinely huggable managing editor Rob Hearn.

"Video is a growing part of the Steel Media portfolio, and we'll be bringing more features, more nonsense, and more of Pocket Gamer's world class writers into the era of moving pictures in 2015, so stay tuned!".

All together

"It's been a real team effort," added AppSpy's editor Peter Willington.

"James Gilmour's technical expertise, Danny Russell's top-tier community outreach, Harry Slater's dry wit, and whatever the devil it is I bring to the show - combined with the beautiful people that come watch us every day - have cultivated the perfect conditions for this little channel to blossom into a lovely big flower which smells of videogames".

AppSpy and Pocket Gamer have also been asked to participate in Special Effect's GameBlast 15 charity streams, taking place across 20 - 22 February.

The team will be attempting a whopping 12 hour stream for this worthy cause, also celebrating its one year anniversary on the 20 February, and hosting the official GameBlast stream on the 21st.

Join AppSpy and Pocket Gamer on Twitch every weekday at 5pm GMT, 12pm ET and 9am PT via twitch.tv/appspy on your mobile, tablet, or PC.
