Ruzzle celebrates 3rd birthday and 50 million download milestone

Ruzzle, the word game that boasts over 50 million downloads, has reached the 3-year anniversary of its release.

Some interesting numbers emerged from this, including the fact that the game still hosts more than 10 million active users and that - perhaps most remarkably - 10 percent of the first 800 users to download Ruzzle remain active and regular players.

Launched in March 2012, the free-to-play game allows players to challenge each other to find as many words as possible from a set number of letters in two minutes.

Users can challenge friends through social media, or random players around the world.

To-date, more than 20 billion games of Ruzzle have been played. Indeed, the title holds the accolade of fastest growing word game in the history of the App Store.

To celebrate maintaining an active community over 3 years, a "significant update" labelled Ruzzle 2.0 has been launched, which includes added customisation elements and a tournament mode.
