Finnish wearables expert Everywear Games has raised €2 million ($2.25 million) in seed funding in a bid to become the “world’s leading smartwatch game company.”
With the launch of the Apple Watch-targeted game Runeblade under its belt, Everywear Games is one of the first developers to stick its head above the parapet and dedicate itself to the smartwatch platform.

This confidence prompted Silicon Valley’s True Ventures to lead the funding round, with participation from Lifeline and Sunstone.
Everywear will use the cash injection to design more games designed specifically for Apple and Android smartwatches.
“I became deeply interested in Everywear Games when I saw their vision put into practice with Runeblade,” said True Ventures partner Om Malik who is also joining Everywear’s board as part of the deal.
“It was clear to me they understood what kind of entertainment works on a smartwatch, and that their team’s pedigree could execute and iterate. I look forward to working closely with Everywear as this new gaming platform evolves.”
