Video: What Disney's global presence means for its mobile games

As part of Pocket Gamer Connects San Francisco 2015, Chris Heatherly, SVP & GM at Disney Mobile Games, talked to Chris James about Disney's global presence.

Heatherly talked about the company's ability to create a "360 presence" around their products, pointing to Kabam's Contest of Champions, which is now being developed into a comic book series.

Not just a commercial enterprise

But they only create that presence with their franchises when "we're making the brand better", to avoid it becoming simply a "commercial enterprise."

Heatherly also spoke about Disney working with other developers, saying they look for those "who have experience in free-to-play", not only in terms of design but also maintaining the game after launch.
