At Pocket Gamer Connects San Francisco 2015, Stuart Westphal, VP of Games and Interactive at Hitcents, gave a talk about "dreaming it real."
Specifically, Westphal is keen to stress the importance of sticking with your ideas, saying that "people might try to tell you what your vision is, and you have to be so convicted to press through that."
Culture and communication
Westphal also had some advice on entering your game into foreign markets, saying "make sure you localise and give consideration to the cultures you're going to be selling your game in."
That said, he also recommends avoiding language altogether where possible, and relying purely on images to get your message across, in order to "eliminate those communication barriers."
