UK super angel Chris Lee invests in UK studio Eight Pixels Square

UK mobile developer Eight Pixels Square has announced it's closed a new funding round.

The 40-strong studio hasn't disclosed the amount, but as well as involvement from the founding team, UK super angel Chris Lee has also invested.

Lee has previously been involved with developers such as Relentless, Media Molecule, FreeStyle Games and Hutch Games.

"I've been fortunate enough to see what's in the works for 2016 and am very excited to see those products come to market and disrupt the grossing charts", he commented.

Global Leisure Partners, the company's exclusive corporate financial advisors, has also taken an equity stake.

Coming next year

As for the founders of Eight Pixels Square, they are all industry veterans, previously with UK developer Eurocom.

"We are thrilled to close this investment round, which will help enable us to create and scale top grossing F2P titles in 2016 and beyond," said director Hugh Binns.

"We have a number of major titles due for launch next year and look forward to announcing further details on the IP soon."

The round brings the company's accumulative total, which includes funding from a local enterprise fund, to $3 million.
