At Pocket Gamer Connects San Francisco 2015, Florent Pitoun, Co-Founder and CEO, FabZat, gave a talk about phygital gaming, the cross between physical and digital games.

"Things are beginning again", he said, pointing to cyclical trends such as Instagram's use of filters, and the return of the Polaroid camera.

Parents love it

Pitoun went on to discuss the success of phygital games, such as Skylanders and Disney Infinity, saying that "parents are spending $131 on these games".

Because of this, "this is a marketing that is evaluated for 2018 at $10 billion", said Pitoun, which he says will account for 10% of the games market overall.
