Alongside its ever-popular Angry Birds IP, Rovio is working on a mid-core title called Deminions Unleashed.
The game sees players amassing and training a team of creatures, before sending them off into battle against elementally-charged enemies.
Looking a bit like Mixi's #1 top grossing Japanese hit Monster Strike, battles take the form of a pinball-style game, where players have to fire their Deminions into the enemies, bouncing them off into other enemies and chaining together combos for maximum damage.
Under the radar
The game has been in soft-launch in Australia, Brazil, Canada, Finland, Hong Kong, Israel, the Philippines, and Singapore since December 2015, but the developer is listed as Dark Matter Gaming.
However, at White Nights Helsinki 2016, Rovio's Head of Games, Wilhelm Taht, revealed that the company was working on a "mystery mid-core title" and showed the icon for the game in his talk, which matches the App Store icon for Deminions Unleashed.
It is not uncommon for developers to release games in soft launch under a different developer name – Scopely's Breaking Bad: Empire Business, for example, is currently in soft launch under the developer name Phase One Games.
