Pocket Gamer Connects Vancouver 2016 - June 28-29 - is go, go, go

Pocket Gamer Connects is returning to North America.

And this time it's Canada's turn to play conference host.

Kicking off on June 28-29 and held at the striking Vancouver Convention Center, this PGC will bring our tried-and-loved formula of short-sharp sessions, developer-focused fringe events, and superlative networking to a new territory following our traditional presence in London, Helsinki, and Bangalore.

Expect 2 days featuring 6 tracks, 80+ sessions, 100+ speakers, and countless reasons to be there. But if you need some, here's a quick rundown on the content currently planned:

  • East Meets West: Going Global – our beloved core track returns more pumped up than Ben Johnson and will include insight into trends in Asia, LatAm, and emerging markets, as well as a focus on eSports and, of course, brands
  • Indie track (we'll call it something more catchy, don't worry) – this should be the destination of every indie developer attending PGC, where they'll get the lowdown on the strategies, tools, and techniques needed to thrive in today's mobile games market
  • Monetize, Retain, Acquire – want to establish a model that will keep your players returning and spending before you have to dish out the UA dollars? Here's where you'll learn everything you need to know
  • Mobile Games University – packed tighter than a London gammar school classroom, MGU offers a carefully curated curriculum very much focused on practical advice on how to succeed as a mobile games developer
  • Show Me The Money – there are more avenues than ever before to get the investment and support that could transform your business… here you'll learn how to choose which make most sense and how to avoid the typical pitfalls
  • Future Visions – whether it's trying to pinpoint the real size of the VR opportunity, deciding whether AR is the better bet, or what other technologies and trends should be on your radar, Future Visions will have it covered

And that's just the tracks. We've got plenty more happening throughout the event:

  • The Very Big Indie Pitch – massively popular indie developer competition
  • 20/20 SpeedMatch – An exclusive session enabling shortlisted developers and publishers to make initial contact during a dedicated 2-hour stint of speed-date style meetings
  • I Love Indie Showcase – an exlusive expo area within the conference dedicated to indie developers and their games
  • PG Party – come now, no PGC is complete without a little dancing and plenty of schmoozing
  • Bespoke meeting system – our dedicated Pitch & Match system for all registered delegates to use in order to connect during the conference

There's more, but we'll leave it there for now.

We've still got space for speakers, so if you have something to share, don't be shy.

And if you're rather listen than talk, know that Super Early Bird tickets are still available (but will end soon).

With three boys under the age of 12, former Edge editor Joao has given up his dream of making it to F1 and instead spends his weekends transforming his living room floor into a venue for hosting increasingly complex Scalextric tracks. When in work mode, he looks after the production (aka the behind-the-scenes magic) of Steel Media's series of conferences.
