German organisation snaps up local young team

Vainglory eSports team acquisitions continue as Rebirth of Empire bought by mousesports

German Vainglory team Rebirth of Empire, who came third at the Vainglory Winter Season 2016 EU Championship Finals, has been acquired by German eSports organisation mousesports.

The young team, which includes noted 13-year-old player Benedict Ward, a.k.a MrKcool, won the recent online Vainglory Master Series.

"We have risen to the pinnacle of Vainglory with a home grown group of awesome players, of which I am proud to be a part," said Ward.

"Joining mousesports is a huge window of opportunity and excitement for all of us."

Staying local

Mousesports is one of Germany's leading eSports organisations, and is known for its dominance in the German Counter Strike tournament scene.

"We have always been known for fielding Germany's elite teams in any game we enter," said Cengiz Tüylü, CEO of mousesports.

"Once we decided to get into the booming mobile esports market, the former Rebirth of Empire team was our obvious choice.

"This young team has impressed us with their passion and dedication and I am sure mousesports Vainglory is going to be a success story."

The acquisition shows a continued interest in mobile eSports - especially Vainglory - from large eSports organisations, with Team SoloMid acquiring reigning US champions Alliance earlier in 2016.
