2016 Unity Awards now open for submissions

Submissions are now open for the 2016 Unity Awards.

The event, which has been running annually since 2008, is an opportunity for the game engine developer to honour the Unity-made games that have shone in 2016.

The categories are as follows:

  • Best 3D Visuals
  • Best 2D Visuals
  • Best Student Project
  • Asset Store Award
  • Best VizSim Project
  • Best Non-game Project
  • Best Desktop/Console Game
  • Best Mobile Game
  • Best VR Game
  • Best VR Experience
  • Golden Cube (Best Overall)

The six finalists in each category, evenly decided between a public vote and those cast by Unity employees, will receive two free passes to the Unite Los Angeles conference in November.

Any Unity-made product that matches one of these categories and is released between 1 August 2015 and 30 September 2016, is eligible.

The submission deadline is 12 September.

You can submit your game now through the Unity website.

Last year's winners included Tilt Brush, Ori and the Blind Forest and Cities: Skylines.
