Slither.io achieved 80 million downloads worldwide in Q2 2016

Indie megahit Slither.io was the most downloaded game between 1 April and 30 June in 2016.

Sensor Tower's Q2 2016 Data Digest report suggested that Slither.io achieved just over 80 million downloads in the period across iOS and Android.

It was the most downloaded game on both app stores worldwide, and was the most downloaded app overall on the US App Store.

Subway Surfers, Piano Tiles 2, and Clash Royale also make an appearance in the top 20 downloaded games worldwide, based on combined downloads from the App Store and Google Play.

Interestingly, Clash Royale only appears on the combined download charts, and not on either of the individual store download charts.

Games were also shown to be the overall most downloaded category of apps above all else on both the App Store and Google Play. Game downloads accounted for 81% of all downloads on the App Store worldwide.
