Pokemon GO has been downloaded more than 500 million times on Android and iOS in just two months since release in July. That's more than the number of people who live in the US - the third most populace country in the world.

The game has also still to be released in big countries like India and China, though there may be difficulties with the latter in particular given the game’s reliance on Google location data.

No numbers were provided for daily or monthly active users.

Players have also travelled over 4.6 billion kilometres in the location-based game.
