Pokemon GOhas dropped to number 2 in the US App Store's top grossing charts for the first time since it launched on July 6th.
The game had been at number 1 since July 7th, and remained there for 74 days. It dropped to the number 2 slot on September 19th.
According to App Annie, the game launched at number 31 on the top grossing list, but went straight to the top of the chart the day after its release.
Clash of the titans
Pokemon GO has been overtaken by Supercell's Clash Royale, which shot back to the top of the top grossing chart following an update on September 19th. It had previously been floating around at the bottom of the top ten.
In the United Kingdom, Pokemon GO continues to be the top grossing game on the App Store. It continues to suffer relatively in Japan, however, where it regularly shifts position around the top ten of the charts.
Dropping from first place to second place isn't the worst thing that can happen to a game, but if the trend continues, this could actually mark the turning point of Pokemon GO's popularity in the US.
That said, the game had lost 79% of its paying players since July 15th, but still managed to generate the highest revenues of any other game on the market.
