EA plans to bring one of its "bigger games" to Nintendo Switch but questions broad appeal of device

Probably still hurting from the Wii U

EA plans to bring one of its "bigger games" to Nintendo Switch but questions broad appeal of device

EA has unveiled plans to launch "a game or two" for Nintendo's upcoming Switch console.

Speaking at the UBS Global Technology Conference, CFO Blake Jorgensen claimed that the developer would most likely bring over one of its "bigger" games to the console.

The implication is that EA will simply port a title over to the console, instead of developing a new game for it.

"We haven't yet announced what game, but you should assume that it's one of our bigger games," he said.

Not for everyone?

However, Jorgensen also expressed some concern over the console's appeal. "It's an interesting device. But I can't yet predict how broad it's going to be," he said.

"Will people be interested in a portable device alongside their regular portable device that they have today?"

EA is likely still harbouring concerns with Nintendo consoles after its poor showing on the Wii U. The publisher released just four titles for the console, before ceasing all development for it within a year the system launched.
